The time to stand up is now | Janet Mohapi-Banks
There was this crazy thing that happened to me in my previous business.
On one hand I wanted so much more than I had, but on the other I didn’t feel worthy enough of having what I already had.
Every time I tried to push forwards into even greater success, the panic and fear of losing it all would have me second guessing decisions that I’d made and have me worrying long into the early hours about things that I knew I couldn’t change.
Getting to the top of my career was one thing, and actually quite easy because I was totally in flow, but staying there and getting even further along came with all sorts of limiting stories.
Stories that told me that I was only there because I got lucky so it could all disappear as quickly as it came.
A nasty nagging inner voice that asked who was I to be there anyway?
If that sounds familiar to you, here’s what I now know having gone through it all.
All of the above were the results of learned beliefs and behaviours that can be unlearned to reveal the true possibilities available to you.
When we strip out the stories of not being enough and replace them with knowing that enough was merely the starting point you were born with, your entire perspective of life will change…
Which will change your actions…
Which will change your results.
When you truly understand your infinite potential, you wake up feeling energized and able to stand fully and unapologetically in the power of who you are.
You allow yourself to take up space.
To be heard.
To be seen.
To show up as the change-maker you are, making a monumental difference in the world.
And when you do that you give permission to other people to do that too.
Every door you open is open for the next girl, next woman, next leader so she too can take up her true place in the world.
But it all starts with you.
If you know that where you’re at isn’t even a fraction of where you want to be…
and that you have so much more inside that needs to be let out so you can live the dream that will inspire generations to come…
Take a deep breath and plant your feet firmly on the ground, because the time to stand up is now.
